September 2001

The events of 11 September 2001 changed the world and Somerset County.

On 15 September 2001 my daughter, Dorothy, and I attended a Saylor Reunion in Cookeville, Tennessee, hosted by Richard and Hedy Saylor. It was a pleasure to meet our cousins in Tennessee. With the events of the 11th we forgot the significance of the date. We were meeting on the 252nd anniversary of the arrival of the ship Phoenix in Philadelphia.
